Notes:
1) 'A', 'An'Theare called articles.

2) 'A' ( indefite article) is used :
     I) before consonants (b,c,d,f,g,h,j, etc)
          Example : a ball, a dog
   II) before words which begin with the 'u'sound
          Example : a European, a university

3) 'An" (indefinite article)is used :
    I) before vowels ( a,e,i,o,u)
         Example : an ant, an elephant
  II) with words beginning with the silent 'h'
         Example : an hour, an heir
* 'A' and 'An' are used for singular and countable nouns

4) 'The'(definite article) is used :
      I) for a particular thing
          Example : The boys wearing the red shirt is my broher. 
    II) when a noun is mentioned for the second time
          Example: I have a pen. The pen is blue.
  III) when there is only one such thing
          Example :the earth, the sky
  IV) with the word 'most' or ending with 'est'
         Example : He is the tallest boy in the class.
    V) before certain proper nouns
         Example : The Bukit Jalil Stadium was used for the Commonwealth Games.
